How do you use the ATMOSFAR Hydrogen Refinery?

In the documented Demo, use the camp's crafting setup to make a Hydrogen Refinery, place the machine, add crystals, and allow them to process into fuel. Crafting the refinery and supplying its input are separate actions. The two checked playthroughs agree on that sequence, while the research does not verify a universal recipe, processing time, or launch-build interface.

What the refinery does

The Hydrogen Refinery is the conversion stage in the observed Demo fuel chain. Gathered crystals are processed into the fuel used later in the personal-reserve and Wasp-transfer steps. It is therefore different from the aircraft's fuel interaction and different from simply carrying raw crystals.

The official camp and Wasp descriptions support a wider loop of producing supplies and maintaining flight equipment. The Demo recordings provide a more specific example of that loop in use. This page keeps the specific workflow attached to those recordings instead of treating every detail as a final release specification.

Start with the camp crafting setup

Both checked videos show camp activity and a crafting table around the refinery sequence. The important initial action is making the machine itself. A player who has collected crystals but has not created and placed the refinery has not yet reached the conversion step shown in the footage.

This is why searching only for an input slot can miss the actual problem. Identify whether you are looking at a crafting interface, a machine that has been produced, or a deployed machine ready for input. Those are different states in the documented sequence, even if an old video moves quickly between them.

Craft before trying to operate it

Jingles' recording around 35:05–36:10 shows the refinery being crafted and deployed. Z1 Gaming's sequence around 35:27–36:37 independently demonstrates the same general progression. The agreement supports the action order more strongly than a single isolated screenshot would.

The research does not establish a stable material list for every build. This guide therefore does not supply guessed component counts or a recipe copied from a different machine. Read the recipe presented in your own crafting interface, and use the footage to understand the workflow rather than as a guaranteed current shopping list.

Place the machine and inspect its connection

Placement follows crafting in the recorded sequence. Jingles' footage shows the deployed refinery connecting into the Camp Hub setup. That makes the relationship between the machine and the camp relevant when diagnosing why a placed object is not yet doing useful work.

The Camp Hub is described officially as distributing electricity to connected equipment. However, the recording of a connection in one setup does not prove that every placement always connects automatically in every build. Inspect the actual connection and machine state instead of publishing an unverified universal placement radius.

Add crystals and allow processing

Once deployed, the observed refinery receives the crystals used for fuel production. The process then has to occur before you have the usable fuel needed by the next stage. Carrying the input and operating the machine are not interchangeable actions.

No verified universal processing duration or conversion yield is retained in the research. It would be misleading to fill that gap with an exact number of seconds or a claimed fuel-per-crystal ratio. Use the state displayed by the machine in your build to tell whether the input has been processed.

Move from production to refueling

The refinery's output belongs to a larger sequence rather than ending the aircraft-preparation task by itself. The observed Demo then involves the personal fuel reserve and a transfer to the Wasp. A completed production cycle should not be described as proof that the craft's own supply has been filled.

This distinction becomes especially important when an objective checks fuel held by the player. The refueling page discusses the historical recording in which moving some fuel into the aircraft left too little in the counted personal reserve. That example concerns resource location, not a verified universal refinery fault.

If the refinery is not working

A useful editorial check is to confirm that the machine was crafted, actually placed, supplied through the camp setup, and given the appropriate input. These checks follow the stages visible in the recordings. They are a way to locate a missing stage rather than a claim that every malfunction has one of a fixed set of causes.

Keep electrical supply separate from the hydrogen resource being produced. An input shortage and a camp-power interruption are different problems even though either could leave production unfinished. The camp-power guide explains the supply-and-connection model without inventing machine demand values or battery capacities.

Apply Demo instructions with version context

The captioned examples come from the earlier Demo period. The research does not confirm that every menu label, recipe, interaction, or placement rule is unchanged in the announced Early Access release. If the current interface differs, follow its displayed requirements before assuming the historical instruction is still exact.

For the broader flight loop, continue to the refueling and repair guides. For the refinery itself, the supported sequence is clear: craft, deploy, supply crystals, and process fuel as demonstrated. The linked sources let you compare those observed actions directly without relying on an invented current-build recipe.

Is the refinery the same as refueling the aircraft?

No, the observed refinery processes the crystals before the later personal-reserve and aircraft-transfer stages. Its work supplies the resource used by the next part of the chain. A machine that has finished processing is therefore not, by itself, evidence that the Wasp has received the fuel.

This distinction helps keep the question focused. If you cannot produce fuel, inspect the crafted machine, its placement, connection, and input. If you have produced fuel but the aircraft remains empty, continue to the separate refueling guide rather than assuming a different refinery recipe is needed.

How strong is the evidence for the sequence?

The two captioned playthroughs show the same broad order independently. Their agreement supports crafting the machine before deployment and supplying crystals before usable fuel appears. The official camp material adds the surrounding production and electricity context without supplying an exact current recipe.

The evidence is narrower for quantities and timing. Neither the retained research nor the general developer description establishes a universal yield or processing duration across later builds. Keeping that boundary visible makes the confirmed workflow usable without turning a historical demonstration into a false specification sheet.

Sources and evidence

These are the sources retained in this guide’s research brief. Dated Demo footage and development articles support only the version and claims identified above; the current official listing takes priority for changing availability and requirements.
